Jason Johnston — half human, half cyborg

Hi, I'm Jason Johnston and I'm a cyborg. No, not like the Six Million Dollar Man where I've been rebuilt with machine parts (though I do wear contact lens technology), but because every day I try to balance what it means to be an innovative human worker — using technology to the best of its ability while keeping humanity at the center.

I am the Executive Director of Online Learning & Course Production at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I lead professional and course development for online programs. My research, writing, and presentations aim to encourage humanity and equity as part of successful technology leadership. I earned a Master of Divinity, a Master of Education in Educational Technology, and a PhD in Education. I also co-host a podcast focused on online learning as we enter the second half: www.onlinelearningpodcast.com. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy music, traveling with my family, and watching sci-fi.

If you want to learn more about how to be a cyborg, that page is for you. If you would like to connect with me, please follow or connect on LinkedIn. Reach out via messages if I could help you or your organization become a better cyborg.
